An enjoyable, fast paced and very entertaining romp. It's not meant to be taken seriously, so don't. I find it oddly amusing that this series contains demonic/spiritual possessions, black magic, otherworldly beings etc etc, but most of the criticisms are about it not being "believable" because it depicts people of colour in positions of power, in 18th century England. Bigoted much?
I had a promise. As every good thing has an end, we have come to the end of this beautiful thing. The plot, acting and effects were amazing from beginning to end. If you saw this comment right now, you probably liked the series. I was so glad to see Billy alive in the last scene. She had a great final. If I had time, I could finish this series in 1 day. I was never bored. Thank you for everyone's efforts. An excellent series. Among my favorites 😁😁
It's always refreshing to see another story where good wins. This show did a good job at presenting dark forces and how you can overcome them with the power of a little truth.
While not getting to much into romance, there was a beautiful kiss between Nell Jackson and Polly Honeycombe.
Very enjoyable story.
Very good fun really enjoying it
Sally Wainwright's projects are strong—whoever casts Wainwright's shows deserves an Emmy/BAFTA. Louisa Harland is a revelation, and the supporting ensemble is wonderful. Sadly, I'm not much of a fantasy/occult cinema fan, and the savage fight scenes are brutal for a Disney production. I'm enjoying the series on its strengths, but what the show really makes me pine for is the continuation of Gentleman Jack (2019), which HBO abruptly canceled after 2 Seasons. It feels like some of the spirit of GJ is poured into NELL, and Harland is, in a fashion, Anne Lister (Suranne Jones). Just not quite the full monty.
