A mixed bag. Similar to shows such as Love, Death, and Robots in the sense that some episodes are great, but others are pretty damn awful. The episodes are short, so even if you dislike the one you're watching, you only have to wait 10 minutes before you're watching something completely different. A fun way to spend a couple of hours.

It could've been a lot better, and some episodes are that good but some episodes aren't on that consistent level. Those episodes drag the show down.

The Boys: Diabolical is a mixed bag of animation styles, but for me only episodes 3, 6, and 8 truly stand out, the rest is negligible. Unfortunately, the weaker entries are not just forgettable but actively bad, amplifying what’s already problematic in the source material: shock and scatology without much narrative substance. I’ve never been a fan of Garth Ennis’ penchant for vulgarity-for-vulgarity’s-sake, and even the strongest episode (3), while more aligned with actual storytelling, leans heavily on excess purely for the sake of impact. The result is loud, crude, and hollow.
