Numerous times, I found myself believing that 'AHS' had hit rock bottom, but it manages to keep unearthing new depths. I was once a devoted fan, but now... [spoiler]Kim Kardashian discussing a viral TikTok salad dressing known as 'green goddess,' seriously? Even the most trivial chatter nauseates me.[/spoiler] It's alarmingly vacant, sluggish, and utterly devoid of the chills and thrills that horror should deliver.
Just keeps getting worse every season. Anyone that made this show decent, from the acting to the writing, has departed the show. The last few seasons I keep asking why I'm doing this to myself. Maybe it's a morbid fascination to find out just how badly they can drive this once very cool show into the ground. Worst season yet.
Please, if you value your time, skip this season. Don't end up like me.
The only positive thing I can say, is the intro cinematic and theme song was a solid 10/10 as usual. Beyond that, this season was unforgivably bad. Not even the type of bad that's so bad it's funny. Just plain bad. 2/10 is my final rating. For context, I'm not one of those pissy MAGA morons who calls everything "woke". Although those people probably stopped watching this series after The Election season. Now that season was truly gut-wrenching horror, I'd probably puke if I watched it again this year (2024) before the election. Back to my point, I can watch a show with a female lead and not shit my pants with rage. Only weak incels do that. This season truly deserves the low rating, for poor quality acting and writing. (No spoilers) the final conflict resolution at the end was so dumb it made me want to hit my head against the wall. It was also a big eye roll when they almost touched on a legitimate moral issue by highlighting the main character's narcissism and other flaws, but then they essentially go "just kidding!" and reward her for being a selfish and apathetic narcissist. This season isn't worth anyone's time. Those who rated it a 10/10 need to have their entire rating history deleted from the Trakt database. I'm not even kidding.
It’s just repetitive and weak and vague. I think they just think being weird and vague makes it deep and interesting but far from it. Every episode is literally something weird happens to Emma Roberts then some side characters act weird. The actual reveal is not really a reveal and exactly what’s teased throughout. Then the conclusion is just meh
