I am always weary about watching `Ren Jialun` shows because if there is good chemistry (despite lacking skinship) then its a bad ending or ill-fated relationship [spoiler] this is not an exception ; although 35 & 36 give a reunion without the usual abrupt ending in 34 [/spoiler] for this reason the rating drops to 7 instead of an 8 . Song Zuer as `Banxia` carried this is show for me with her gradual subtle variations and the process of falling in love ; fighting for her family , freedom & love is sooo good and on top of it her micro-expressions are so cute... Ren does his usual stone faced expressions and good actin scenes so you kinda of get bored with his character soon if you have see him before and his [spoiler] bittersweet endings are not good for my heart.[/spoiler] Sima & Youhang needed a better ending ; Youhang is so judgemental & dismissive initially of Xuaneye and then sima for having connections Although i liked the journey each demon arc is about 5-8 episodes so something it feels very slow but the background work for mainly story is laid brick-by-brick so don't miss anything by skipping. I rate it 7 instead of 8 just for the open ending ; I'm sick of these in 2025
