Same old vibes with some adult jokes
So far, so interesting. I was worried how they would go on without Sam but it turns out that their new addition to the cast is kinda nailing it, or at least the characters they represent. Other than that, I feel like many things in the show feel forced, politically charged and what you'd call "edgy". I mean, if you think about iCarly, you think about a goofy show that while sometimes touching serious topics was always kind of fun to watch. The reboot also has moments that really made me laugh, but most of the first three episodes felt super sarcastic and made jokes about every internet thing in existence. Most jokes in the show just feel provocative instead of light-hearted and funny, e.g. cancel culture, white privileges, twitter bubbles, shitstorms were all touched in the third episode and nothing about it felt like you could just laugh about it and be done. I'm interested in seeing how the show will progress, but I don't expect as much enjoyment as I'd hoped for.
This must be the first EVER mature revival of a children's show targeted to the adults who grew up watching it. And it was great. 8/10!
They really hit the mark with this “reboot”, it’s modern, it’s iCarly, it’s adult, it’s funny, 10/10 recommend it for fans of the original show and whomever likes comedies of the sort in general
