Pour répondre aux attaques de drones autonomes envoyés par l’Empire voisin de Giad, la République de San Magnolia a développé ses propres drones de combat surnommés les « Juggernaut », espérant ainsi limiter les pertes humaines. En réalité, ces appareils sont pilotés par les 86, les habitants d’un district secret considérés comme du bétail. Déterminé dans sa mission, Shin, le capitaine de l'escadron Spearhead composé de plusieurs 86, poursuit ces opérations suicidaires. C’est alors qu’arrive un nouvel officier et soldat de l’élite militaire, Lena, qui déteste la façon dont la République utilise les 86. Ils n’auraient jamais dû se croiser, mais face aux événements de cette guerre féroce, ils vont entrevoir ensemble un nouvel avenir…

This was the best anime series of year 2021 hands down. Be it the animation or the plot or the opening/ending theme songs, every single element got my attention instantly. Only downside would be the release schedule which resulted in too many delays and recap episodes but at the very least the production team didn't do a sloppy job just to release them quickly. This show is a definite recommendation from my end. It'll be worth your time.
I have no idea why I am waiting each week for the next episode. There is something that really disturbs me in this anime. In one hand it is very dark and mature, with characters that have deep personalities, but in the other hand "lol we bring a lolly with an annoying voice on the battlefield and we do as everything is fine, even though we should all be totally traumatised". Idk, it feels a bit disrespectful for the persons who really suffered of the kind of events that happen in this show. But from what I saw on internet I am part of the minority here. Anyway still worth watching if you are into anime.
one of the best-written animes with a story, mostly I get easily distracted and lose my focus on watching something, but this one kept me hooked. you wouldn't regret watching this one 😉
86 is an absolute rollercoaster of a show in terms of plot, pacing, characterization (even if it's just of 2), and predictability. The ending that I wanted was achieved but not without the constant dread this show instills from early on. Still shadowboxing in excitement about it.
I can't phatom how anyone can rate this higher than 6. 1. Plot is told like a book.. Without the detailed descriptions of a book your left with questions that logically we should already know the answers to 2. Borderline no character development. It's the stereotype princess goodie goodie who learns a harsh reality... Except... She doesn't really. 3. There's a sad story hidden somewhere, but I can't bring myself to care for a girl who gave 1 speech and died. 4. The combat animation is aweful... What the f is even happening. 5. It's a clear gode geass at home attempt. The opening and ending is pretty good.
