An interesting story on the origins of professional football in England with some nice backstories and character development... just a shame it's a bit loose on the historical footballing accuracy!
Fergus Suter and Blackburn Rovers were not actually the first Northern team to win the FA Cup! Blackburn Olympic won it the year before them without Suter.
This aside, it's an enjoyable watch and I wouldn't mind a second series!
As an absolute football fanatic I'm trying to get my hands on anything even slightly football related during this quarantine. So this came out at just the right time. It's a very interesting (even I didn't know much about this story) and very well made period drama.
Wait arent they the guy from fantastic beast and the cw flash?
You know the white savior trope? This entire show is that, but with rich people saving poor people. Other than that, it's good entertainment and I liked having a glimpse of how soccer used to be played.
