Occasionally silly, like a sword fight in prison out of the blue. Denzel Washington and John Lithgow are excellent though even if the material isn’t. What does work is that no one believe Denzel that Lithgow’s killer is still alive. Framing Denzel for murders, getting with hookers and heavy drug use. Ricochet is mostly the kind of movie that feels like it would exist in the Last Action Hero movie universe. It’s a macho cop movie where nothing is realistic and the villain steals the show.
"Pork, back off or else she's gonna need a paper bag over her head when her boyfriend fucks what's left of her!" I am so happy I accidentally came across this 90's action gem. It is totally bonkers and really really enjoyable. It is brutal, it has Denzel Washington vs. John Lithgow. A sword fight between Lithgow and Ventura. Denzel putting on make-up while pretending to be crazy. A basketball game. Ice-T. A prison escape. Faking dental records. Destroying someone's life. A succes story. A Denzel Washington mustache and that epic early 90's action movie feel. I should really dig deeper into lesser known action movies from the 90's. I do think there are many fun ones out there and this is one of them. If you haven't seen Ricochet yet and you enjoy Denzel Washington, be sure to check this one out on HBO Max.
Correct thriller and a good performance by Lithgow as a psychopath.
I didn't even notice that was Denzel Washington until the credits lol. I also didn't know he used to curse that bad. Anyway, the movie was alright, just seemed like there was way too much cussing for a plot that wasn't that good.
