I'm so glad I found this movie. It may be one of my new favorites. For about 75% of the film I was thinking just how much I loved this film! It's got that old school aesthetic. The directing is superb and the soundtrack is Terminator-esque. I see it's on a list of cult films and I can understand why. [spoiler] The weakest parts of the film in my opinion is slow start and the end which was rather abrupt.[/spoiler] I'll be revisiting this film!

Although the idea behind the movie is good, the mediocre acting, bad SFX and boring directing makes this "just another mediocre to bad old-school horror flick".

Película fría, oscura y paranoica. Lo interesante no son “los poderes” en sí, sino el clima enfermo y la tensión constante. Cronenberg explora el cuerpo y la mente como territorio vulnerable. Tiene escenas icónicas y un estilo seco, clínico. Personas con habilidades telepáticas se ven envueltas en una peligrosa red de control y conspiración. Sci-fi oscura, fría y perturbadora, con marca Cronenberg total y momentos visualmente inolvidables.

This pretty much serves as a introduction to David Cronenberg style of body horror that he will become known for. Stephen Lack acting here is mixed but at times he fine other times he just sort of bored. Michael Ironside though does a good acting job here. The sequels are not as good as Scanners so just only see the first unless like really into Scanners franchise.
