I think my IQ just dropped about 10 points.
Without Bio-Dome would we have Tenacious D, and the world may never know....
I was never an MTV fan, but I knew of Pauly Shore from MTV and became a fan of his movies from Encino Man to Son-In-Law, In the Army Now (Lori Petty is amazing!!!) to, and yes including for some reason, Jury Duty ; for Stephen Baldwin, this movie was fresh off the success of the Usual Suspects; and Joey Lauren Adams... I mean, Coneheads, more importantly Mallrats and the rest of that amazing universe! This movie stands-up for me, and I remember it for exactly what it is, and did not embellish this into some masterpiece in my mind; I found myself happily engaged throughout the rewatch. This is a low-brow comedy meant for low-brow jokes and people who enjoy it. If you aren't into obvious innuendos and stupid comedy you won't like this, but if those things sound like fun, I highly recommend setting aside 90 minutes to enjoy an over-the-top pointless comedy that will make you laugh. Edit: Also just realized for the first time ever that Tenacious D was the band playing at the "lame party" before the "Bio-Dome Party".
This movie is painful to watch. Prepare yourself.
