Well to be honest i had some laughs during this movie but its a little bit silly I'll give it 7/10 just for Rowan Atkinson
I haven't uncontrollably sniggered like that in so long and it's so clear why after watching modern-day 'comedies'. 2000s UK looks like the word nostalgia for me, and this movie captures it exactly. Rowan Atkinson is a comedic genius and not once did his performance feel put on. It must have been so hard not to laugh while filming. Parodies aren't new but this is in its own league. The casting/acting is unforgettably fitting. The writing is simple and smart, and the directing somehow is timeless. The story hits the satire like a nail. Also, people need to learn about parodies, the ratings are a disgrace. The names Bean...Mr. Bean.
A goofy parody with all the expected awkward charm of Rowan Atkinson. It’s stupid but in a lovable, watchable way. Nothing about it is technically impressive, but it has enough dumb laughs and nostalgic energy to be enjoyable.
I know that objectively this movie isn't the best but I absolutely love it! it's good fun for all the family with some silly but comedic moments thrown into the mix of slapstick action. Rowan Atkinson does an amazing job of brining to life Johnny English, an incompetent spy who is given his first official mission but can he manage it? if you looking for something fun and light-hearted to watch then I would definitely recommend this.
I remember liking this movie a decent amount when it came out. But I was like 14 or something, and my criticism wasn't quite as harsh I guess. Or maybe my humor style has just changed. No big deal though, this doesn't suck. It hits a few pretty solid jokes, but doesn't quite keep them constant throughout the whole film. It kinda feels like a movie that you'd have on in the background while you're doing something around the house.
