Like French salsa, it's tasteful but not hot enough to be good. I really really really wanted to like this movie and gave it the benefit of the doubt for as long as I could. The French don't try to make genre films enough, imo, and this has all the ingredients necessary to make a good one. Sadly, the script contained too many WTFs (if you're in a forest fire and ten fire fighters run past you screaming, don't just stand there with your mouth hanging open while they abandon you (!?); likewise, you can use the brakes on a car that's been jumpstarted -- it won't turn off and never start again) and the story was too disjointed to make the viewer feel any sense of urgency for the characters. (This movie really did break my heart a little. I'm a huge fan of the lead Alex Lutz and on his Instagram page he wrote a sincere and impassioned plea for people to see this movie, yet this morning, in a cinema with about 300 places, I was alone 😓.)
