One of those 90s action flicks that is worth a watch but not that good. As in Passenger 57, Wesley Snipes is a cocky but brilliant guy. Smarter than everyone else and as tough as the bad guys. One liners, plot holes, easy to predict storyline. 6.5/10
Conspiracy with assassination in the White House.
I've watched this multiple times. Really good action/thriller. Well crafted who-done-it set at the White House. If you like Wesley Snipes and movies with tension, then this is a fun one.
I kinda enjoyed watching this again... But...not because it's particularly good. This was one of the first DVDs I bought back in the day. I think it's still around in some box or another... It wasn't so much the movie that was enjoyable, but the memories attached to watching it on my, then, new and rather expensive DVD player. Anyway... The movie itself is not all that good. A lot of plot leaps and cheap tricks to keep you interested. No real depth to any of the characters, and not really all that exciting either. So...Murder at 1600 is a mediocre political thriller from the mid-90s. What else is new... It's not worth to spend any time trying to find, but if you catch it on TV as I did, you might give it a try. If not for anything else, watch the ever so lovely Diane Lane as a Secret Service agent.
