What a masterpiece. When you think of the real difficulties they had to overcome when filming, it just makes it even more incredible. Would recommend to watch "Burden of dreams" as soon as finished this one. Puts the movie into perspective

While this movie is most famous for the troubled relationship between the director, Werner Herzog, and Kinski behind the scenes, where death threads were made, this should though not distract from the main story. While the story is actually a quite good adventure story, the acting by Kinski is exceptional as he manages to capture the audience even without words. I believe that this movie is a classic and a gem of cinematic history that you should have watched. After that, dig the internet for the “Making of”, namely the documentary "Burden of Dreams" and enjoy the unreal misbehaviour of mostly Kinski on the set.
