It's just so slight and full of cliches. The mummy's boy whose wife has died, the mum who's so clueless she marries a criminal she's infatuated with, the crazy obvious-match girlfriend who is overly sexual for no apparent reason and has sex with everyone but deep down she loves the main protagonist, the criminal who just has to do that one last job. It's like it's written from a template. I wouldn't say it was all bad though. The ending is quite touching.
Like pulling a chain smoker in a coma through sand, it drags at times. The cast was as pretty as they were good, but the story just kind of laid there waiting for the occasional joke to hit it. Still, the directing was strong and I'll be looking forward to Garrel's next feature!
