A haunting film about retribution, forgiveness and the lives trapped in the oppressive, theocratic, patriarchal society of (late 1980s?) Iran and its Islamic judicial system, presented with the fatalism and tragic irony of Shakespeare and the pessimism of Tolstoy.
I wanted to write something meaningful after watching this movie and here I am staring at the comments box and can't write anything, and yet I am full of emotions... Asghar Farhadi is a master of letting you wonder what the end is, you choose your own movie ending. I want to choose one end but I can't seem to picture it. And yet I am full of emotions... that is why this is a perfect well done movie.
