[MostraDones '22] Transsexuality is used as an element of fascination for the protagonist, but the film does not exactly address identity, but rather the acceptance of an unwanted body. The fifteen-year-old Benedetta is reflected in Amanda, in a subtle exercise that is perhaps too restrained, without fully abounding in its central themes and with a somewhat clichéd representation of transsexuality.
