Must Watch movie, Feeling very sad after watching it..

The movie sends a nice message but courts in my experience don't work like that. Also, the characters were either Disney feel-good heroes or villains. If the police are corrupt, the whole system is... judges included. I'm 100% sure that some elements were left out to preserve the Government's overall image. Believe me if I say that if the police were acting like that, the whole system knew and supported them.

I was a bit scared about tackling an almost 3 hour legal movie. I had to swallow my trepidation. From the start I was drawn into this very emotional, brutal and heartwrenching true tale. This is not only a court-house drama, it shows the brutality of a police force that puts standing and results above the lifes of humans. And the scenery we are shown is truly shocking. As shocking as Schindler's List. No punches are pulled, we are shown fully what these innocent people went through. The actions of the police force really are disgusting. It is also brilliantly shot and made. My biggest gripes come down to a cultural difference. (I didn't like the songs in it, but I recognize that's how movies are made in India so I do not include it in my judgement of the film). I had no idea that such things happened. But, I am grateful that a movie can teach me these things, even if they were shocking to witness. My thanks go out to the makers of this movie and I hope it will bring a positive change in policies and actions of those in charge.

That this is based on a true incident is the most gut wrenching thing about Jai Bhim and it makes it an even more powerful movie about the caste system and police brutality in India. I was surprised by this, it’s a good movie, but also heart breaking. Still not a fan of the songs that come with Bollywood films. The way the portrayed to lawyer is a little silly at times, like a super hero almost, but it’s nothing over the top. Sure, you will not be surprised by what happened to the husband, you see that coming from a mile away, but I can guarantee you’ll not be bored watching this.
