I thought the film was quite ordinary and it didn’t evoke any particular feelings. It felt like a miscast role for such a talented actor like Will Smith to portray Muhammad Ali. The boxing scenes were energetic and well-produced, but overall, it didn’t quite capture the essence of Muhammad Ali’s character. I would give it a 6 out of 10 rating.”
The boxing scenes are shot really well but everything outside of the ring is just mediocre.
A historic moment for Cassius Clay.
It felt like it lost a lot of momentum right in the middle (after the army debacle). Some sequences needed cutting imo but nevertheless it is an ambitious look at the defining years of Ali's career. Amazing Smith and great photography by Lubezki.
