Somewhat dull British spy film, dumped into theatres at the height of Bondmania. There's a bit of humor, I think, but on the "Austin Powers to Jason Bourne" scale it sits firmly to the right of the James Coburn 'Flint' Movies as well as the Moore Bond flicks, but it is a tad to the left of the Connery Bond flicks. I like my spy movies to either be tense and exciting, or ridiculous and absurd. _Dandy_ manages to be neither. Redeemed a bit in some modish scenery and the odd bit of clever dialogue, as well as a few really well shot sequences (this _was_ directed by Anthony Mann, after all) _Dandy_ mostly fails to impress. Give it a skip unless you're a spy film completionist.
