100% an experiment. Militarising Christmas like this is ironic enough. The casting is distracting for all the wrong reasons. If you told me every inch of this was created by AI, I'd believe every inch of you. For a movie of this scale, it's embarrassing. Most movies are propaganda, I know, but holy e.l.f this is a mess. Money laundering and you cannot tell me otherwise. Also, when are we going to stop doing the opposite because it's 'fun'? A skinny, henched Santa and a tall, brute elf. It makes me want to shred my head into a snow machine. The pacing and story feel like the build-up to a funeral, you can't wait till it's over. Just watch 'Home Alone' again.
I can’t even imagine how much the actors cost for this lol
Did it change my life? No. Will it be the vehicle the Rock had hoped for? Eh, not really, but I must say that after watching it I’m intrigued by the possibilities, but I’m realistic. Overall it was fun, it was an enjoyable escape. Recommend for jollies.
Interesting one. 6.5/10 I liked the concept. Chris Evans feels like Ryan Reynolds turned the role down. DJ is being DJ. Some fun bits and what feels like 20 minutes of filler. I assume it was released to cinemas in November so they can put it to Amazon Prime Xmas Day?
The Rock playing the single role he always plays, with the same personality, the same slapstick, the same idiotic "look" with the eyebrow - and it's just boring now. Chris Evans would be nobody without Marvel and anything he does outside of that proves it beyond a shadow of a doubt. He's not a comedic actor and someone else put it perfectly: It feels like it was written for Ryan Reynolds but he turned it down. There are aspects that are an interesting take and was pretty original, the snowmen come to mind. But it takes Christmas and makes it kind of dark and not really Christmasy. This basically is just another action vehicle for The Rock to get paid another $50M doing the exact same thing he always does and he's overpaid every single time. One time watch, just for an action flick, but it's not a yearly rewatch like some of the greats.
