I think this movie has a good amount of moments between characters that crumble apart the second you remember that Carol is engaged. Most of the plot happens because it needs to happen and it’s hard to believe that these characters would do what they do. If you took most scenes out of context then they’re okay but all together it falls incredibly flat. The acting doesn’t match the tone of the film, but the film doesn’t seem to know what tone it wants to go for either. Still enjoyable if you just see it as a strange product of the time, but I’ve certainly seen better films about life post-Vietnam War.
