One of the best movie car chases of all time.

Great thriller, intense car chases. The ending might be the weakest part of it is the only negative

This is one of the most underrated action films of all time, yes it has a great car chase everyone talks about but no one talks about the fact that it actually has a really cool story and some of the best shootouts I have seen in a film. Someone asked me why they should watch this and I honestly said: "It basically is like Heat but in a french setting" and honestly that is the best way to explain this film. Also underneath it is a really great heist film with a lot of brains and this is down to the great cast including Robert De Niro (Sam) and Jean Reno (Vincent) who have great chemistry together and would love to see other films with these exact characters again. If you love action then I urge you to watch this diamond of a film which has everything that action lovers will love. And yes........it does have some awesome car chase scenes but to me that is like the icing on the cake :)

This one had been on the "watch" list for a while, mostly because it was one of the few De Niro films that I had not seen. The first half of the film is rather intriguing because the characters are trying to fit together and the story begins to unfold. The second half of the movie is a glorified car chase and all of the intrigue is removed from the story. The director tries to bring home some of the themes at the end of the movie but it just doesn't work. It almost felt like someone started with a good movie and then spliced in the end of "Blue Brothers". I can't remember the last time I saw a movie that was missing a plot.

Full of mystery and intrigue, Ronin is an intense espionage thriller. The story follows a group of mercenaries hired by a mysterious woman to retrieve a briefcase, but when one of their own betrays them the mission is thrown into chaos. Featuring Robert De Niro, Jean Reno, Natascha McElhone, and Sean Bean, the casting is pretty good. The directing is also well-done, and creates an atmospheric tone that brings a lot of suspense to the film. Additionally, the action sequences are quite impressive, particularly the car chases. However, there’s a level of ambiguity built into the plot that doesn’t quite work. It has some weaknesses, but overall Ronin is a dark and provocative film.
