How the French love these stories of intergenerational love!
An intense film that maintains a constant peculiar tension through the dynamics, dialogues and actions of the deeply well-constructed characters. The expressiveness stands out, as do the excellent dialogues and the daring scenes that explore sensations, desires, discoveries, frustrations and complex family relationships, following controversial and impactful paths.
Catherine Breillat is back with another controversial erotic movie that is a remake of a Danish film Queen of Hearts… It is a beautifully filmed movie… but also a very controversial movie that is about really messed up family dynamics. The actors do a really good job and the cinematography helps tell the story. Anne is a lawyer who is an advocate for abused minors. Pierre is her husband who has a teenage son from a previous marriage… which he has basically abandoned. Theo is a messed teenage boy - who seduced his math teacher and gets kicked out of school. Well Theo seduces his Stepmother Anne… And down the erotic rabbit hole of justification and deception we go… will it destroy the family and or her professional life.
