Same world, another place and new starting idea. Give it a chance 😉
[Netflix] It's difficult to call this sequel/reboot disappointing when the previous one was an exercise in suspense that didn't really work either. The attempt to offer an explanation, however, seems too lazy, with no clear justification for the protagonist's actions. It surprises a cast of wasted actors with some flat and cliché secondary characters, and despite the different context it ends up being extremely boring. It is interesting to broaden our gaze towards other scenarios, but it's a mistake to ask the Pastor brothers to do "The last days" (2013) again.
I last only 15min, so I can't say much about it. 😣
For the first 30 minutes of this movie, I was super excited by a very interesting take on the world of Bird Box; it expands on a small part of the first movie and deepens the lore quite a bit, giving a unique point of view from the protagonist and introducing religious influence. Unfortunately, as things go sideways for the characters, the plot lapses into generic territory and the focus on what was interesting gets abandoned in favor of a bland take on trauma.
Bloody awful. This is what you get when you mix Netflix and crusty Spanish actors, who can't act to save their lives. Especially that Mario Casas, who has even less range than a piece of wood. Nonsense sequel.
