What happens when you take all romance and comedy out of a rom-com? Now, thanks to this turd, you can find out. What a complete waste of a talented cast.
can i tell something positive for this movie? no
I find it strange that the rom com has effectively died out. Everything now is edgy or "anti-rom com" rom com. This made me think... If you took My Best Friend's Wedding and updated it so Julia Roberts being such a bitch was acknowledged and not ignored, and then made the many characters more broad and woke... It is this. It's genuinely funny in parts. It is charming to an extent. And it is one of those films set in a London that just doesn't exist. Despite its flaws and a few uncomfortable moments that didn't land right, I actually quite enjoyed it. 3/5 7/10
The movie has a great cast but the script is dismal. A shame because there was scope for something sharp and funny here. Instead, it plays like a melodramatic TV movie with added swearing.
This movie is extremely rough around the edges. That said, I was surprised that - as the movie went along - it actually worked for me. It was often charming and funny, and it doesn't hurt that the ending was pretty good. follow me at https://IHATEBadMovies.com or facebook IHATEBadMovies
