I'll start off with the obvious: this is not a Christmas movie. This is the classic "two neighbors have a battle to see who can outdo the other, and the battle is really covering up other issues". There are actually some fine actors in this movie, but the script is utter shite. After 85 minutes of a meandering storyline (and awkward attempts to bring back the battle so that this could be considered a Christmas movie), they go for very artificial tugs at the heart strings.
