It's a light, generic movie without any surprises. Everything you expect to happen, happens. But that is by no way meant to be negative. It's not a movie of hard laughs but while watching it I started smiling and noticed I never stopped until the end. Shatner makes it work. He doesn't take himself to serious and he's not trying to steal the show. It's a movie he wanted to make as this clearly doesn't came with a pig paycheque. Jean Smart is adorable and a good match for Shatner. Christopher Lloyd has few but good scenes. He is a little bit of extra spice. Sure, there is some kind of meaning/message but it isn't very deep. This movie surely will not gain any awards. It's a good way to pass some time. I am not ashamed to admit I enjoyed watching it.
