Absolute garbage. I'm sorry to say that, but female writers have absolutely no f*cking clue how to write a horror story or horror movie. This trash was neither scary, nor suspenseful. Just awfully boring and dumb.
Sarah Paulsons screams truely is something so iconic to hear. The woman knows how to deliver the most perfect, yet terrifying scream… chefs kiss! An interesting story that starts off super creepy and intriguing, but by the second half I felt a little disappointed. Idk, maybe I was expecting it to be more scary or just to have a better answer to what tf was going on. It’s a quick and easy viewing, and worth watching for Sarah Paulson’s performance
Hold Your Breath is a good film about grief, paranoia, conformity, sacrifice as well as separation. If I had to use references to explain it, I would mention The Witch by Robert Eggers meets The Babadook by Jennifer Kent set in Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl period. While it is a good movie, it does suffer from a very slow-paced development that can often bore the viewer. However, the acting and mysterious atmosphere the plot creates kept me watching, curious until the last minute. Sarah Paulson is a scream queen of her generation of actresses, but I'd also like to add how incredible were the performances of Amiah Miller and Alona Jane Robbis, who clearly have bright futures in acting. Is it the best Psychological Thriller I've ever watched? Of course not. But it does entertain and has beautiful use of color and sounds to create metaphors such as when the girls are on the train on their way to meet their father and see greenery after a life of colorless dust around. That was a beautiful, meaningful ending, in my opinion.
First half, ok, but I found the second half very boring. Visuals were very good, along with the acting, but the plot became very tedious.
A decently suspenseful, interesting movie. Cinematography, costuming, lighting, pacing was intriguing.Sarah Paulson gives a strong performance
