[Filmin] This toxic relationship is built on the representation of a tired and vulnerable woman that Ruth Wilson creates with sufficient ambiguity. But there is an intention in the direction to bring us closer to the epidermis of the character through compositions of closed shots, almost touching the skin, which ends up being exaggerated, as if the story itself did not want to give her character her own freedom.
Found myself quite enthralled by the acting, yet at the same time felt dissociated from the film as much as the central character did from everything around her. Of course I also felt like a voyeur in her despair of making a connection to some thing or some one of value.
The story isn't true (presumably) but the characters and events depicted here are certainly close to reality.
The psychological torture that one goes through to find love or is it lust. The main character is trying to give love to this guy who seems inadequate and does not reciprocrate. This movie is worth watching. I'm not gonna give any spoilers... Do yourself a favor and watch this film.
