Synopsis
Un soir, Ellen Cort, jeune veuve de fraîche date, a la désagréable surprise de voir surgir dans sa propriété californienne son défunt mari, qui massacre le chien de la famille et semble invulnérable aux balles, avant de disparaître. Elle fait alors appel à David Norliss, un écrivain spécialisé dans les phénomènes surnaturels, pour enquêter sur une affaire qui n'intéresse pas la police. Norliss découvre que feu Cort s'intéressait beaucoup à l'occultisme avant sa mort. Pendant ce temps, le corps d'une femme est retrouvé près de là, vidé de son sang...

Pretty much a carbon copy of the previous year's Dan Curtis directed "The Night Stalker" starring Darren McGavin. That movie is superior to this one, but you can't blame Curtis for trying to catch lightning in a bottle again one year later. This stars Roy Thinnes and Angie Dickinson, who both are very likable in their roles and do a fine job. "The Norliss Tapes" is a more straight-faced affair. It doesn't bring the comedic skills of McGavin and his portrayal of newspaper man Carl Kolchak.
