The documentary itself is gold. The story, however, is sickening. Learning about this makes you disgust people, power and money. I have mixed feelings about rewards for labor, but the fact that we can just disappear people and no actions are taken, is just awful. #justiceforjamal Watch it, educate yourself and sign the damn petition.
Incomprehensibly rejected by the main streaming platforms such as Netflix, which distributed the documentary "Icarus" (Bryan Fogel, 2017) that won an Oscar, the reasons could be in the economic connections of these platforms with Saudi Arabia. Because "The Dissident" clearly raises not only the involvement of members of the government in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, but that of the crown prince herself. It is a courageous documentary that uses the audio transcripts of the moment of the murder to build a structure around the crime, incorporating other elements that somehow broaden the view from concrete activism to the control of information technologies by the governments.
Fascinating, especially the second half. Be careful of review bombs of this to discourage its watching.
Shocking and sad. Watch it, rile at the injustice, and then stand up for Jamal and all others who are subjected to such atrocities. One person can make a difference and today that person could be you.
Very good documentary but Jeff Bezos should never be painted in a good light.
