Jim Caviezel stars in the provocative political thriller Infidel. The story follows an American journalist who is abducted after sharing his faith during a television interview and is tried on trumped up espionage charges by the Iranian government. Caviezel gives a strong performance and writer/director Cyrus Nowrasteh does an impressive job at creating tension and suspense. Additionally, the Nowrasteh deftly handles issues of religious persecution and political injustice without getting preachy or detracting from the characters. Remarkably compelling and full of intrigue, Infidel is powerful film.
After playing Jesus in 2004, Caviezel now stars as a man who seeks to share his Christian faith with others. As a Christian myself, I was intrigued by this film. Sadly, it's rough around the edges, with the occasional wooden acting from some of the cast, and a messy narrative. Its worthy, but it could have been better.
Much better than Argo - LOL (being brutally sarcastic)
