And it's probably the best film I can think of to use it. This is better than Rashomon (1950). But then again, Fukasaku was a better director than Kurosawa. Love, love, love Fukasaku's style. Swinging in emotions between tragedy of losing the love of your life and knowing the pain will never be effaced and exhilarating violent, chatic, brutal flashbacks to the war as the 6 characters all give completely different accounts of the husbands death. Love it. Love Fukasaku.
