wtf with the CGI? God!

This accent is fucking distracting

It's nothing amazing but also not that bad as far as low budget horror film goes. Most of the characters are a bit bland but the story is quite engaging and it looks like they put most effort into the 'Jack' in the box. He looks genuinely creepy with the mask, costume and his movements, and the box has some really cool prints on it. I think it gets bogged down by trying to be too dramatic and emotional when it relies on actors that clearly aren't capable enough. At least the male lead is cute and overall it's a quite fun film if you're going in with low expectations. It could've been a lot better though.

Not great, but holy crap does it look good. Voldo movements were peak creepiness. Punches well above it's class in photography and lighting, and in costume, but the narrative and scare factor just isn't really there. Fight scenes never have impact. There's some real bones here but no connective tissue. ~~4.5/10~~ 3/10 after watching Troll 2, which was a true 4/10.
