I'm not crying, you are! Overall I quite enjoyed the film, nothing insanely special but still worth watching and a good film in my book. :)

I always find myself crying whenever the story of movies revolves around dogs. Maybe I'm just really emotional, and because I know how it feels to be a dog lover who can't bear to overlook or ignore stray dogs. It's about having a heart and compassion. This true story of Michael and Arthur is incredibly beautiful. It's worth watching and will definitely leave you with lots of PAWsitive vibes!

Just sit back and watch with no expectations, feel good movie. I like his movies, in which he relates most of family audiences... Lot better than a high budget routine crap netflix movies.

If you've seen the trailer, you know exactly what kind of movie this is. The one thing I didn't expect was how distinctly it shifts from being all about the race to being all about the dog instead of both parts of the story running in parallel throughout. It starts as a mixed bag of a sports film with some good scenes (well, mostly the [spoiler]ziplining[/spoiler] scene) and some moments that involve viewers enough to kind of get you pumped to go for a hike, but also some unimaginative and stiff dialogue, unrefined camerawork and - especially in the first half - some very rough editing. As the movie progresses, it shifts more and more into the generic dog movie the marketing promises, and while it's based on a true story, clearly there has been some sugar-coating applied. It becomes manipulatively melodramatic by the end, as you'd expect, but I don't think very many people with a beating heart will remain entirely unaffected by it. Ultimately, there are next to no surprises to be found in the story, it's not the kind of movie you will remember for a long time after watching it and you can question the creative liberties it takes. But still, it kind of works and there certainly are worse ways to spend 100+ minutes.

So the movie doesn't really get going until 50 minutes in? If they just cut it down a little, it would actually be really good
