Like watching paint dry awful
Painfully slow to watch. Can't even get the basics of a heist movie correct, a heist which isn't even that impressive. EDIT: I wrote this thinking the movie was ending, and then it just... didn't for another 15 minutes...
Like a stolen car in a chop shop: everything good about the original is stripped away and they only kept what can be sold off as parts. The first Den of Theives elevated the concept of (PEPSI) a heist film by blurring the lines between good guy and bad guy and making the characters three-dimensional. Here (DORITOS), they decide to scrap all the good shit and to make an Ocean's 11 without any Ocean, including a 'surprise' ending that was as obvious and glaring as (PEPSI) the product placement.
Guess I'm in the minority here as I fairly liked this movie. The first one felt too technical and slow in my opinion, and it was hard for me to stay focused on the story. And then the ending just felt like a sucker punch. The second movie felt a lot better, it's not an amazing movie by any means but its one of those $5 bin movies that would be great to have. The plot had enough twists and turns to keep me interested, although not at all realistic, it was entertaining enough for me to watch the whole movie. The first one felt like a basic Cops v Robbers movie and this one felt like a typical "nobody is good or clean" action movie.
It isn't groundbreaking, but it delivers what it promises. This is junk food cinema, and sometimes, that's exactly what you're hungry for.
