Synopsis
Focus sur le parcours et la personnalité atypique de Tammy Faye Bakker, célèbre évangéliste américaine au maquillage outrancier. Épouse du télégénique Jim Bakker, le couple était très impliqué auprès des malades du sida dans les années 1980. Mais au début des années 1990, leur empire financier s'effondre.

If the 2000 documentary underlined the caricature, this film wants to redeem her, giving the impression that neither of them manages to adequately reveal the character, with her contradictions (an evangelist turned gay icon) and its merits (the visibility of AIDS in the 1985 interview). Jessica Chastain's work is remarkable because she manages to shed the physical appearance to convey Tammy's inner instability.

Jessica Chastain really put herself out there with this performance…. It was great. Very interesting story and portrayal. Good movie

What a superb acting from Chastain. Outstanding, I haven’t seen such a great performing in a very long time. She totally deserves an Oscar.
