Fine as Hallmark movies go. An odd conceit with an oddly dark beginning, and it falls apart the more you think about it. And the deft swerves to avoid incest is very funny. But you get what you expect, and I watched it for one thing: Lance Reddick. In his small role he showed that easy charisma, and seeing him bounce off of James Earl Jones is a treat. A shame they’re not in more of it. I also enjoyed the villain’s evil Jimmy Stewart energy. Besides that, this movie slides right off of you.
