Some really great creativity here.. A couple of decades of NZ songs (although some of them barely recognisable). These movies are a joy to watch. But I have reservations. Sometimes the songs over shadowed the acting (and often stretched the key players a little too much). But then there is Kimbra. No-one can complain about a Kimbra's singing. And I wonder if it is a very limited audience. For me, I knew, and grew up with most of these songs - but what about younger people? Or what about people who are not familiar with this music at all... But despite that hesitancy about the movie, I'm pleased I watched it. This is the type of movie that could just as easily have been a real joy. It's not just another me too movie - these folks had real creativity pulling together a list of scores in such a great way. So I say give it a go. You may just like it!
