_Meteorites_ is a coming of age tale where first-time actress Zéa Duprez explodes onto the subtle script like a comet hitting the silver screen. In his first feature film, director Romain Laguna said in an interview that he was filming a wildlife documentary about a 16-year-old girl living in the provincial southern France. That being the case, the weight of the entire film is placed on the lead actress, to whit first timer Zéa Duprez. She not only carries the film, she lifts it over her head and runs with it. Her stellar performance accentuated by Laguna's deft directing make this simple tale one worth remembering, and both Zéa and Romain talents worth following.
