Wow! How the world has changed in 21 years. Discovering who we are and how to love will always be a road with hard bumps but this movie reminded me that for some the road was mined. I’m thinking this movie was a “coming of age… gay” story when people didn’t want to even think there were such stories. It even presents as an after school special (remember those). At first I thought the target audience was teens but I think had a louder voice for parents. Stockard Channing plays this role beautifully. It was a shock to see Ru Paul as a quiet version of himself. I give this film a 7 (good) out of 10. I think it is important we listen and seek to hear. [Drama]
