_Yomeddine_ (_Judgement Day_) is a road movie about a leper and an orphan traveling across Egypt so that the leper might find his family again. Along the way, the duo lose their belongings piece by piece... It would be nice to say _Yomeddine_ is deceptively simple but it isn't, it's simply simple. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it just seemed the director wanted only to scratch the surface of the story rather than peel back the layers. There is an innocence to this film which, while perhaps is not justified considering the premise, is at least welcome. Which leads to a perfectly pleasant movie with engaging performances by leper Rady Gamal and his young, black sidekick, Ahmed Abdelhafiz as Obama. _Yomeddine_ may not be a journey, but it's certainly a nice trip.
