A summer with the girl from the greengrocer's. 

Lacks the thematic depth of some of my favorite Bergman works, but this is still a startling, impressive work about desire and infatuation. Harriet Andersson shows why Bergman would return to her so often in his work--she's revelatory here, and displays a feral intensity that hits 1953 like a Mack truck.
