One of the very best documentaries about racing from the 50s. Highly recommended for any racing fan.
There was I think a more interesting story to be told here since so much of the narration was done by people who were married to drivers who died in crashes. Some more about what it was like to build a life with a person who competed in what was the most dangerous sport in the world at the time. But it felt pretty rote and just settled for a by the numbers doc. That Ferrari fella also seemed PRETTY blas√© about all his drivers dying in fiery crashes. ""Yeah but is the car ok?""ù YEESH.
I have never been a fan of Ferrari in particular but I have been a car and racing enthusiast for almost as long as I can remember. And as such I can highly recommend this. It is a stunning documentary about not only the brand but more of the people who drove for it. The movie consist almost entirely of original footage with eye witness commentary from the off. Only towards the end you see those in person for a short time. And that is what makes every second of this worth watching. Even if you already knew the material you should watch this because the quality is simply amazing. I knew lots of this but I discovered details I had not recognized before now.
