**Hal Linden, Rita Moreno.** A superb (and dark) final episode, in which a friend of Jim’s is hounded by the press when he is suspected of raping several pre-teen girls. It’s very smart, and it successfully walks the line where we don’t know–for a long time–if the guy is guilty or not. There’s humour, but this one is pretty heavy going. While 70s ROCKFORD is mostly remembered as light and breezy, it sometimes did socially-relevant stories too. This is the only one of the reunion movies to go that route. Our last time to see James Garner as Jim Rockford. The story is by Juanita Bartlett and Stephen J. Cannell. Directed by Stuart Margolin. 10/10
