The idea is interesting - a boy with a stammer and a fear of music having to confront both to find himself. And Sarah Jane Dias as the personification of music he's drawn toward is honestly the best thing in it. There's a warmth to her that the film around her fails to captivate on. The problem is the film can't decide which story it wants to tell. Too many threads - the tycoon's world, the music, the past, the identity - and none get the room they need to breathe. Vicky is earnest throughout, early Vicky Kaushal before the world figured out what he could do. Had the potential. The pieces were there. Didn't quite come together.
