There's a French comedy genre called _comédie de boulevard_ which is always based on a man, his wife, and his mistress and no exceptions. These are, without exception, sexist and unfunny. _Garde Alternée_ ('shared custody' in English) -- the story of a woman who discovers her husband is cheating on her so forces him to split his time with her and his mistress -- is worse. It's vulgar, miserable, and debasing with a total lack of sympathetic characters. Even the couple's tween daughter is unpleasant and the ten year old boy asks his father not 1, not 2, but 3 times during the film if he's "dipped his willy in the lady". I'd rather have mine cut off than sit through this hemorrhoid again.
