This is less of a family film and more of a movie made specifically for small children. You can walk away for 30 minutes, come back and effectively miss nothing. It’s a dog, he gets lost and goes on adventures, then he eventually returns home at the end of the runtime. That’s it. The vibe is essentially “Homeward Bound meets Pippi Longstocking,” which is to say… it gets weird, but hey it’s cute animals doing cute things and if that’s what you’re in the mood for, it is an adequate delivery medium for that cuteness.
