curious mix of Seven + The big bang theory that is well made and carried, although its final part squeaks me a bit
did not expect it will be a superhero film
Like your friend's favorite comic that they beg you to read: it's not earth shattering but you saw what they see in it. A cop, a young, vulgar, cosplay fan police chief and Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons are on the trail of a super villain recreating hero origin stories in Madrid. There are no real surprises, but it looks good and feels good and sometimes that's sufficient for more than just shoes.
Spanish comic-book-murder-mystery hybrid with a clever central conceit, undercut by uneven pacing and a resolution that doesn't fully earn its twists. Interesting premise, average execution.
Wow! As others have noted, one starts watching a detective movie with only moderate expectations, as its Trakt rating does a beautiful job of disguising this terrific superhero film. Several really good jokes which hit the target if you know España. Well made; it's not up to the big budget Hollywood superhero films, but for a medium budget film it's absolutely fine. Excellent story (the villain is unknown before he's revealed) and a message which is so true for modern Spain. Excellent soundtrack befitting this genre. Loved it!
